These boney tree's are at Geaorge Wyth State Park in the Cedar Falls-Waterloo area in Iowa. I spent a lot of time here while growing up. This park has a real nice bike trail and I used to bike every morning before school. It was so peaceful and I always saw at least 2-3 deer that time of day.

Aurora Borealis

Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). I have only witnessed this twice in my life. Out of the two times, this was the most spectacular. This photo does not even compare to what I saw with my own eyes. It is extremely difficult to take night pictures, especially close to the city. This was taken just outside the city of Madison, Wisconsin. The colors were mostly reds and greens and they came through in waves. It was amazing and worth staying up late to see.

I am not sure what this perennial is called, but I love it. Each morning the flowers are open and in the afternoon the petals fall off. Then the next morning there are all new petals again. This happens over and over during the spring and summer season. What a life, start each new day over.

This is a baby Mourning Dove. It was in a nest in my Dad's tree in his front yard. I was able to get this picture by holding my camera up in the air as high as I could reach and just aiming it in that direction. Not bad, huh? I thought he was cute and couldn't pass up the photo op.

I met this beauty at a Rest Stop in Minnesota. She seemed to be a little shy and didn't feel like spreading her wings for me. Oh well, maybe the next time we meet..... Some just don't seem to know what beauty they have to offer.

Spike Visits for the Summer

Spike is a spider that visits us each summer, or at least someone in his family visits. They build their web on our balcony, waiting for their dinner to be delivered. Spike is fairly friendly and will let you get pretty close, without moving at all. I have had my camera actually touch the web, but that is the only time he has moved a little. Maybe he likes getting his picture taken? He is cute, isn't he? He keeps a pretty clean house, as a matter of fact, he dusts his web every day. We have thought about inviting him into our apartment, as we can't seem to keep ours dusted everyday, but I'm afraid he will want to sleep in my room and I am not open to that at this time.

Rolling Cloud Breaking Up

The cloud in the upper right of this photo is the same rolling cloud below after it started to break up. There were some awesome cloud formations that day. I should mention that you should not go storm chasing, unless you have had the proper training, which you can find on the 'National Weather Service website: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ .

This is a rolling cloud. This storm produced tornadoes, but not where we were at during the chase. This was the first time we had gone storm chasing and it was a lot of fun. We ended up driving over 60 miles away from home before it was dark and we then decided to turn around, since we couldn't see it and didn't think it would be safe to continue to follow it.
